The Thermal Vault & Moisture Management
- Preventing Hypothermia: When static in an OP or on sentry, you cannot rely on movement to generate body heat. Heavyweight VerticalX insulation acts as a thermal vault, trapping core heat to prevent life-threatening hypothermia in sub-zero environments.
- Internal Breathability: High-stress shifts or brief, rapid movements will generate sweat. If trapped moisture cools on the skin, it turns to ice and rapidly accelerates hypothermia. The highly breathable AscentShell Air membrane allows moisture vapor to escape, keeping you dry from the inside out.
Operational Durability & Element Sealing
- Armor-Ready Shell: Standard civilian winter coats easily tear when scraping against body armor, weapons, sharp ice, or military vehicles. The rugged Cordura® outer fabric provides exceptional abrasion resistance to prevent tears that would compromise your insulation.
- Eliminating Cold Bridges: Sub-zero wind will exploit any gap in a garment. An insulated fleece neck roll, grid fleece sleeve gaiters, and a YKK Aquaguard 2-way zipper completely seal out arctic drafts, snow-drift intrusion, and windchill.
Tactical Equipment Integration
Forearm stash pockets, shoulder pockets, and Velcro ID patches allow operators to access critical gear, maps, and identification without having to unbutton or expose their core to the cold. The 2-way center zipper allows the jacket to be opened from the bottom, providing immediate, unobstructed access to items on a tactical belt or harness.
